EVEN 2020 HAS A SILVER LINING, BUT WE’RE READY FOR 2021

Right around this time a year ago, so many of us were excited and looking forward to the year 2020. A fresh start in a brand new decade with all our dreams waiting to come true just beyond the horizon. Wow, could we have been any more wrong?!

Among many other unfortunate things, the year started off with rising political tensions around the world and a bushfire disaster in Australia, but then we got hit by this. The pandemic.

It has turned out to be like nothing we have ever seen in our lifetimes. It is one thing to do all we can to protect our own and the health of those around us, but we never could have imagined how far-reaching the consequences of all this would be.

Country-wide lockdowns, companies going out of business, people struggling to pay rent and put food on the table, not to mention the mental and emotional distress. We have all felt the mounting uncertainty to some degree, because no matter where you may be in the world, we truly are all in this together.

So, what’s the silver lining?

Hard times often bring out the best in people and there are always things we can be grateful for. Even in this stressful situation, there is an opportunity to appreciate some of the things we usually take for granted.

Family bonding is at an all-time high. Being stuck at home gave us a chance to spend some quality time with our loved ones and catch up on lost time due to our busy lifestyles.

Lockdowns also gave us a chance to slow down a bit. No more running all over the place with errands and obligations. If it’s not something you can take care of from your computer, then you have a perfectly good excuse not to do it. Introverts, rejoice!

We can also be grateful that we live in the age of the internet. Imagine being stuck between four walls with no way of connecting with the outside world. We’re able to jump on a video call with whomever we want, whenever we want and see their dear faces.

With more spare time on our hands, we have been given an opportunity to restore lost connections and nurture our virtual communities. We have also been able to work on ourselves and expand our knowledge with the abundance of free courses available online.

Most of all, this situation has reminded us to be thankful for our health and wellbeing, something that we rarely stop to appreciate when everything is fine.

This crisis has taught us patience, perseverance, flexibility, caring for others and sharing with those less fortunate. It has also taught us that the world is wildly interconnected. When people come together as one for a worthy cause, there is almost nothing that we can’t overcome.

We are clearly not out of the woods yet, but we hope that 2021 will bring us greener pastures and clearer skies. We hope that we will be able to safely hang out in public once again and not have to worry about avoiding the crowd.

But for now, we still have to keep the fun among small groups. That’s why we’re offering special Christmas Vouchers for all of our escape rooms!

Our escape rooms are a safe environment where you can have loads of fun with those closest to you. All of our rooms are private, so you will never have to come into contact with strangers.

With Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties cancelled this year, surprise your friends or family with this creative gift and come play one of our unique adventures!

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
